This Code of Conduct sets out the expectations for all members of our installer network. By following these guidelines, you help ensure a positive experience for customers, build trust in the Canadian solar industry, and create long-term success for your business.
1. Commitment to Quality
Deliver solar PV systems that meet or exceed Canadian Electrical Code requirements and all relevant industry regulations.
Use only certified, reputable equipment that meets current safety and performance standards.
Stay informed on best practices and incorporate them into every project.
2. Transparency & Honesty
Provide accurate, clear information about installation timelines, costs, and expected energy production.
Never hide fees or exaggerate production estimates to secure a sale.
3. Professionalism
Treat all customers, as well as Quotepath staff, with respect and courtesy.
Do not contact or visit a Quotepath customer’s property unless officially introduced by us after your quote has been chosen.
4. Experience
While there’s no strict minimum, we’ve found that three or more years of solar installation experience produces the best results.
New companies may still qualify if their team members have extensive industry experience.
5. Timely & Efficient Service
Acknowledge quote requests within 2 business days.
Submit quotes by the agreed-upon deadline.
Follow up with customers within 2 business days after being awarded a project.
Collect deposits promptly and inform Quotepath when we can issue our invoice.
Pay all Quotepath invoices within 15 days.
Complete installations within the agreed timeframe and proactively notify customers of any delays.
6. Conflict Resolution
Address disputes professionally, seeking resolution through open communication.
Report any significant customer concerns to Quotepath immediately.
7. Fair Pricing
Do not underbid drastically to secure a project, only to raise the price later.
Avoid setting prices excessively above market averages without clear justification.
8. Ethical Sales Practices
Absolutely no high-pressure sales tactics, aggressive behavior, or misleading claims.
Door-to-door sales are not permitted for Alberta-based installers.
Installers outside Alberta using door-to-door sales must demonstrate ethical and compliant practices.
9. Clear Communication
Maintain regular, transparent communication with customers from introduction through completion.
Assign a dedicated representative to handle customer updates and inquiries.
Notify Quotepath of any major internal or operational changes — such as staffing, service area, or installation methods.
10. Sub-Contracting
All solar installation work must be completed with in-house crews.
Installers who subcontract their installations may be removed from our network.
By adhering to this Code of Conduct, you help maintain the quality, trust, and reputation that make the Quotepath network successful. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in removal from the network.
Thank you for your commitment to excellence and ethical business practices.
